Prom 2021!

The past 14 months have been very difficult for all students but none more so than those in year 11 and in their final year with us. Due to the relaxing of the Coronavirus restrictions being so uncertain, no steps have been taken to arrange a Prom for this year, but in light of the more positive outlook, we are now far more optimistic and have therefore provisionally booked a venue in a hope that an event can take place.

We are planning to hold a Prom at the Ringwood Hall Hotel in Chesterfield on Tuesday, 6^th July 2021. However, as you will appreciate, this event is subject to not only meeting the required minimum numbers to make it viable, but also subject to there being no new restrictions imposed by the Government prior to the 6^th July.

We intend to inform our students of our plans at some point today, asking that if they wish to attend they pay a £10 deposit by Friday 21^st May to evidence their commitment to attend. This will then help us in confirming numbers and if we can meet the minimum figure required, it will then be full steam ahead with the planning.

The deposit will be non-refundable other than if government restrictions are once again imposed so for example, the deposit cannot be refunded if a student simply changes his/her mind. Please note that we will require full payment in only a few weeks too, due to the payment deadlines we have to meet. At this stage we are unable to confirm a definite price but can confirm that the ticket price will not exceed £40.

We very much hope that the prom will go ahead so that we can say goodbye and good luck to our year 11 students, and mark their time at The Bolsover School with a memorable event, and we hope, therefore, that you will support us and encourage your son/daughter to attend.

Please note that should government restrictions prevent the event from going ahead, up to 7 days prior to the Prom date we would hope to be able to refund the full ticket cost to students, but we cannot be held responsible for any additional costs incurred by you in relation to transport, clothing, accessories etc.
